Transmission Projects
Windsor to New Ellenton 115 kV Line
Project Overview
Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (Central) is committed to maintaining a safe, reliable and resilient electric transmission system to provide power to its Member electric cooperatives and the communities they serve in Aiken County.
The Windsor-New Ellenton 115kV Transmission Line Project will connect two existing transmission lines in the New Ellenton and Windsor areas to strengthen system reliability and improve operational resiliency.
Choosing the best route for this new transmission line was a challenging process and one that was not taken lightly. Central selected a final route following additional route evaluation. Many factors were considered during the route study and siting process, including land use, engineering, natural resources, safety, reliability, and community input.
